Perception of Wonder

The more clearly we can focus our attention on the wonders and realities of the universe about us, the less taste we shall have for destruction. – Rachel Carson

There is so much to see, hear, smell, sense in the Universe that one lifetime is not enough. There is so much to appreciate, enjoy and wonder about! I am not talking about the seven wonders. I am talking about adopting the perception of wonder.

As Ray Bradbury says: We are an impossibility in an impossible universe. Our birth and entire existence seems so wonderful! We cannot sit and create a human with tools and equipments. It SEEMS impossible. But, we all witness its possibility.

And the more we will learn to observe and see wonders in the Universe, the more we will have faith in the possibility of everything which we presumed to be impossible, including World Peace.

As a matter of fact, World Peace is not something we have to bring about or create. We just need to stop disturbing it with destructive thoughts and actions. And the solution is simple: Shifting the focus from anything else and keeping it on the wonders and beauty and inexhaustible variety of existence. It’s the same as appreciating God.

Nature teaches

“Water does not resist. Water flows.
Water always goes where it wants to go. Water is patient. Dripping water wears away a stone. Remember, you are half water. If you can’t go through an obstacle, go around it. Water does.” – Margaret Atwood, The Penelopiad

If you can’t go through….I liked this! Neither resisting nor fighting with a problem can help us solve it. A water-like patience can wear the problem away.

The true power of water is in its flexibility, its softness. We can go through water and we also love its touch. Water nurtures. Water caresses. Water cleans. Water also heals.

Water is not hard, it’s not stubborn. It is persevering. If we try to stop it, it will first try to percolate through. If it can’t, it will change its course and move on. If it can’t, it will corrode the obstructing material. If it can’t, it will break through. Water moves silently or melodiously. It roars only when it has gathered strength to break through.

This is how nature teaches us. Let us unfold some more lessons. Nature is the path to God.

Godlike Patience

Why is patience so important?
Because it makes us pay attention. – Paulo Coelho.

Insightful!

All of us have heard that patience is a bitter plant, but it has a sweet fruit. We have heard and we say…keep patience..have patience. But, patience does not mean mere waiting.

Patience is an opportunity to focus. Patience means knowing the purpose of waiting. Patience means a healthy attitude towards circumstances.

With this understanding patience doesn’t remain bitter; it becomes curiosity, hope, enthusiasm…it becomes a sweet fruit in itself. It allows us to enjoy the journey. We can shift our attention from the reward and keep it on the process.

In this way, patience doesn’t merely bring sweeter results for us. It brings a wonderful byproduct than the end result. It makes our being more beautiful. Without patience, spiritual growth is an illusion. With patience, it becomes a certainty.

Let us demonstrate Godlike patience to discover the precious gifts of life.

Nature

And forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair. – Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet

What a wonderful reminder! We are part of the same nature of which the trees and birds and bees are parts. We are connected at the core. We may move and travel in different directions. But, the goal is to reunite with the source.

It is the play. It is the game. Roam and wander and explore and create. But, come back to nature off and on to rest and recreate.

As we long to be under the blue sky…on the sea shore hearing the waves roar..to breath the fragrance of flowers and to reach the mountain tops in hours, Nature, too, longs to meet us there.

To quote Eckhart Tolle: Through you nature becomes aware of itself. Nature has been waiting for you, as it were, for millions of years.

Let this waiting end this weekend. Let’s go out in Nature..be with Nature…in commune with nature. Needless to say…God is already there.

In every job that must be done there is an element of fun. – Mary Poppins (album)

In every job that must be done there is an element of fun. – Mary Poppins (album)

There is generally a mental aversion to the word must. We tend to resist what we know we must do. Everything in life has a process. We have to be on a journey before we reach the destination.

The destination is nothing but a picture of future painted by our imagination. We shouldn’t treat the moments which are taking us ahead as hurdles to be crossed. Each moment deserves our love, attention and respect. Likewise, each small step towards our destination should be enjoyed.

We need to carry the sweetness and hues each moment brings for us to complete our painting. Just by an intention to drop the resistance and an intention to discover fun in each step the painting will become colourful…the arriving will become meaningful.

This day on let us affirm: *This moment is filled with joy. I choose to experience the sweetness of today. – Louise Hay* God will join in the fun.

Happy Women’s Day

Good morning, my dear friends!

On this Women’s day I wish all the men and women a life of freedom from ignorance. Men who supported women’s movements had risen above ignorance. They strived for women’s rights and freedom because they had realised that only a free woman can truly contribute in the complete growth of man in particular and of humanity on the whole. Men and women are two complementary halves of the same species. Both have their unique qualities. Men and women can never be equal. They are not supposed to be. They are supposed to be free. They have the freedom to lead their lives the way they desire. We just need to remove the limitations put on the freedom which is rightfully theirs.

Freedom is not something we can give. It is something we can enjoy. Freedom is the mother of all other values. Even love cannot exist without freedom. Cherish your freedom. God has already given us ‘free will’.

The Object of Aspiration

If the aspirant takes one step towards the truth and god, the totality takes ten steps to meet him. – Vimala Thakar.

Aspiring always unfolds the path to reach the aspired. What really determines the quality of our journey, however, is the object of aspiration.

All other accumulations and accomplishments will remain behind when our Soul decides to change form. Only the truth travels with the Soul.

A simple desire and an honest intention are sufficient for moving in the direction of God or truth. The Totality that is Divine awaits for our intention. The moment we release an intention, we experience an accelerated pace of growth.

To quote Osho: Whether or not you reach the truth, but the quest and path make life richer and fuller.
