Colour of Music

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music. – Friedrich Nietzsche

Do you have ears that can listen to music in everything? Life is filled with melody and rhythm. Catch the notes, play the keys and create symphonies. And even when you cannot hear melody and rhythm, create harmony with the music in your heart.

Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and that which cannot remain silent. – Victor Hugo

Music is a language in itself. You can convey almost anything, even silence. Music can be a companion in joy and it can be the best pal in gloomy moments.

Music was my refuge. I could crawl into the space between the notes and curl my back to loneliness. – Maya Angelou

Music is soothing and healing and above all it’s a colour that can fill the spaces in our life sketches.

If I were not a physicist, I would probably be a musician. I often think in music. I live my daydreams in music. I see my life in terms of music. – Albert Einstein

A lot can be said about music and a lot has already been said. And this is my favourite quote:
Music gives a soul to the Universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything. – Plato

Music is my first love. What about you? And as Neale Donald Walsch says, if you desire to be happier than God, then sing or at least hum!

Creating Joy

If life gives you lemons, don’t settle for simply making lemonade. Make a glorious scene at a lemonade stand – Elizabeth Gilbert

Life gives us everything to create, expand, evolve and to have fun. Look at everything in your life and think how can it add to your joy. Sounds weird? But, it’s not. It’s a matter of change in approach. Things may be causing stress, things may be making you angry or anxious or sad or helpless or…. But, change your approach…not just the perspective. Change your approach while dealing with the situation or problem or person.

Nothing happens with you. Everything happens for you. – Tejguru Sirshree Tejparkhi. This sentence has helped me change my approach in the most disturbing, angry or maddening moments. If everything that’s happening is for me, then I try to dig for its purpose. The moment I change my approach, I become peaceful, hopeful, curious and everything that happens thereafter is insightful.

According to Gautam Buddha we have only two causes: joy and gratitude. And when we learn to be grateful for the seemingly unpleasant experiences, we find the joy of living.

Experience and suffering are two absolutely different things. As Eckhart Tolle says if we accept every experience as though we have chosen it, suffering ends. We can experience pain, but suffering is unnecessary.

We are born to be joyous all the time. Each and every spiritual teacher says this. Each and every spiritual master lived this. This is just one way of living. But, indeed the wisest one!

Live like God

Synchronicity is an ever present reality for those who have eyes to see it. – Carl Jung

It’s all about how we think and what we believe. If we believe that there is a Supreme Intelligence (howsoever you may name it.. God, Nature, Universe), and if we believe that the Supreme Intelligence has infinite organizing power and if we believe that the Supreme Intelligence can orchestrate anything and everything to fulfill our integral intentions, then we can really, relax, watch and enjoy the process of life. We can then participate in the play and live our roles without attachment. That would be a state of bliss. We will enjoy everything but require nothing. Hey, that’s how God is!

Perception of Wonder

The more clearly we can focus our attention on the wonders and realities of the universe about us, the less taste we shall have for destruction. – Rachel Carson

There is so much to see, hear, smell, sense in the Universe that one lifetime is not enough. There is so much to appreciate, enjoy and wonder about! I am not talking about the seven wonders. I am talking about adopting the perception of wonder.

As Ray Bradbury says: We are an impossibility in an impossible universe. Our birth and entire existence seems so wonderful! We cannot sit and create a human with tools and equipments. It SEEMS impossible. But, we all witness its possibility.

And the more we will learn to observe and see wonders in the Universe, the more we will have faith in the possibility of everything which we presumed to be impossible, including World Peace.

As a matter of fact, World Peace is not something we have to bring about or create. We just need to stop disturbing it with destructive thoughts and actions. And the solution is simple: Shifting the focus from anything else and keeping it on the wonders and beauty and inexhaustible variety of existence. It’s the same as appreciating God.

Nature teaches

“Water does not resist. Water flows.
Water always goes where it wants to go. Water is patient. Dripping water wears away a stone. Remember, you are half water. If you can’t go through an obstacle, go around it. Water does.” – Margaret Atwood, The Penelopiad

If you can’t go through….I liked this! Neither resisting nor fighting with a problem can help us solve it. A water-like patience can wear the problem away.

The true power of water is in its flexibility, its softness. We can go through water and we also love its touch. Water nurtures. Water caresses. Water cleans. Water also heals.

Water is not hard, it’s not stubborn. It is persevering. If we try to stop it, it will first try to percolate through. If it can’t, it will change its course and move on. If it can’t, it will corrode the obstructing material. If it can’t, it will break through. Water moves silently or melodiously. It roars only when it has gathered strength to break through.

This is how nature teaches us. Let us unfold some more lessons. Nature is the path to God.

Godlike Patience

Why is patience so important?
Because it makes us pay attention. – Paulo Coelho.

Insightful!

All of us have heard that patience is a bitter plant, but it has a sweet fruit. We have heard and we say…keep patience..have patience. But, patience does not mean mere waiting.

Patience is an opportunity to focus. Patience means knowing the purpose of waiting. Patience means a healthy attitude towards circumstances.

With this understanding patience doesn’t remain bitter; it becomes curiosity, hope, enthusiasm…it becomes a sweet fruit in itself. It allows us to enjoy the journey. We can shift our attention from the reward and keep it on the process.

In this way, patience doesn’t merely bring sweeter results for us. It brings a wonderful byproduct than the end result. It makes our being more beautiful. Without patience, spiritual growth is an illusion. With patience, it becomes a certainty.

Let us demonstrate Godlike patience to discover the precious gifts of life.

Nature

And forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair. – Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet

What a wonderful reminder! We are part of the same nature of which the trees and birds and bees are parts. We are connected at the core. We may move and travel in different directions. But, the goal is to reunite with the source.

It is the play. It is the game. Roam and wander and explore and create. But, come back to nature off and on to rest and recreate.

As we long to be under the blue sky…on the sea shore hearing the waves roar..to breath the fragrance of flowers and to reach the mountain tops in hours, Nature, too, longs to meet us there.

To quote Eckhart Tolle: Through you nature becomes aware of itself. Nature has been waiting for you, as it were, for millions of years.

Let this waiting end this weekend. Let’s go out in Nature..be with Nature…in commune with nature. Needless to say…God is already there.
