To feel intensely is not a symptom of weakness, it is the trademark of the truly alive and compassionate. – Anthon St. Maarten

Sensitivity is a great quality. Those who can understand with hearts are truly alive. In my opinion, faith and sensitivity go hand in hand. Those who lack faith in the Divine are fearful, insecure…always scared.

They are so busy securing their lives, rights, possessions and interests that they can hardly sense the pains and pleasures of fellow humans. They are very suspicious. They are the ones who criticize everything that doesn’t suit them. They have lost the ability to see beyond appearances.

My words may sound judgmental. But, the aim is not to judge. The aim is to remind…as Dr. Hew Len says: If you can feel it, you can heal it.

If we think that the world is in a bad shape and needs to change, we need to understand the problems. And understanding is impossible without sensitivity. We need to listen to people open mindedly. We need to learn to analyze our patterns or thoughts which disallow us to be more accommodating and helping.

What do we truly aspire? Is it not peace and harmony? Is it not love and joy? Is it not health and prosperity for all? We may get a sense of satisfaction to accomplish our personal goals and dreams. But, when everyone becomes part of the prosperity, we are truly fulfilled.

Sometimes I think, I need a spare heart to feel all the things I feel.- Sanober Khan, A Thousand Flamingos

Let us live. Let us be sensitive. It’s Divine.

Nature teaches

“Water does not resist. Water flows.
Water always goes where it wants to go. Water is patient. Dripping water wears away a stone. Remember, you are half water. If you can’t go through an obstacle, go around it. Water does.” – Margaret Atwood, The Penelopiad

If you can’t go through….I liked this! Neither resisting nor fighting with a problem can help us solve it. A water-like patience can wear the problem away.

The true power of water is in its flexibility, its softness. We can go through water and we also love its touch. Water nurtures. Water caresses. Water cleans. Water also heals.

Water is not hard, it’s not stubborn. It is persevering. If we try to stop it, it will first try to percolate through. If it can’t, it will change its course and move on. If it can’t, it will corrode the obstructing material. If it can’t, it will break through. Water moves silently or melodiously. It roars only when it has gathered strength to break through.

This is how nature teaches us. Let us unfold some more lessons. Nature is the path to God.

Healing the World

In every community, there is work to be done. In every nation, there are wounds to heal. In every heart, there is the power to do it. – Marianne Williamson

Howsoever big or deep the wounds may be, the power of love and peace can cure everything. It is the allowing and not withholding of which can do the healing. We should allow love to flow incessantly. Blocking it creates pain.

We shouldn’t be afraid to express love. Love is what we are born with. It cannot be exhausted. Fear is what we learned from the society after our birth. And its antidote is present right in our hearts…in our ability to love.

Peace, like happiness, is a choice. Peace is equally powerful as love. A decision to choose peace and express love can bring about miraculous healings.

To conclude, I would pray as Marianne Williamson does: Dear God, please send me the Spirit of Your Peace. Then send, dear Lord, the spirit of peace to all the world. Amen.

Have a peaceful and loving week ahead. God is present in peace. God is present in love.

I own my anger

If you try to get rid of fear and anger without knowing their meaning, they will grow stronger and return. – Dr. Deepak Chopra.

We are not just told by others, we somehow know that fear and anger are not qualities to possess happily. So we try to suppress, burry, ignore or act contrary to them. For example, we deliberately act bravely to disguise our fears. But, all these ways do not really help in getting rid of fear and anger.

Knowing these feelings, understanding the causes underlying them, and most importantly owning them is essential to their healing. Some people do accept their fears and anger. But, most of us repudiate them. As a result, we project it outside of us. We notice fear and anger in people around us more often than we consciously know. It is a natural response of the mind.

If we know our fear and anger and do not disown them, we will hardly notice it in others. Acceptance is the first step to healing and overcoming them; understanding is the second. Fear and anger are two faces of the same emotions. They generate two responses – fight or flight. We know about these instinctive reactions. But, still cannot accept our emotions.

The antidote or cure for fear and anger is Love. Self love is the best healer. Accepting yourself as you are and loving yourself despite any quality or trait you dislike in yourself, helps in healing them. Cursing yourself would be of little help.

Try this: Think of a quality or trait you do not deny in yourself. Now try to recollect if you ever noticed it in others. You will be amazed to know that you do not project it outside. This experiment will provide greater insights.

Spectacular Indeed !

“If we look both ways before crossing, if we learn to share, if we hold hands and keep track of each other, if we walk and don’t run, if we quit pushing and say we are sorry when we do, if we clean up our messes, and if we stop fighting with our brothers and sisters – we will get to grow up and our future can be spectacular.” – Robert Fulghum.

I believe,

If we stop withholding love and care and extend to give greater share ,

If we drop ruthless killing and learn more and more ways of healing,

If we leave worry and anxiety and just trust in nature’s bounty,

If we let go living in the past and NOW opt happiness to last,

If we quit pursuit of perfection and look with greater affection,

If we ignore things that annoy and create more context for joy,

If we stop fearing God at once and embrace the new ideas immense,

If we shed off tendencies that separate and let Divine Oneness to flow and operate

We will truly get to grow up at speed and our future will be Spectacular indeed.”
