Character and Self Esteem

Your reputation is in the hands of others. That’s what reputation is. You can’t control that. The only thing you can control is your character.- Dr. Wayne W. Dyer.

Reputation nurtures pride. Whereas, building, maintaining and refining our character nurtures our self esteem. Self esteem is true strength. We can build self esteem by being watchful about our thoughts, speech and action. When there is consistency between all the three there is authenticity. We should refrain from speaking what we do not intend to do. Speech devoid of intent is a sure way to diminish self esteem. When we intend something, say something else and do something entirely different we create a chaos in our own minds.

Maintaining and refining of character is done by allowing our conscience to rule us. Our reputation should not drive us. Let reputation come as an obvious outcome of a life lived with inner strength. Have a building weekend. God literally serves us when we are authentic.
